All colours can be described as a combination of the basic colours red, green and blue. The sensor illuminates the coloured surface with white light or LEDs. The light reflected from the surface to be recognized will be split up into these basic colours. As well as the colour values, there is an additional signal in our colour sensors that is proportional to the intensity. Because these values are normalized (always total 10 V), a colour recognition signal can be obtained which is independent of the distance of the sensing head from the surface. This ‘threefield’ method allows the recognition of almost every visible surface at a rate of up to 10000 measurements a second. The adaptive repeated "Teach In" function links the tolerance adjustment easily with the production conditions.
Laser sensors, such as laser distance sensors, laser micrometers and laser beam sensors, measure distance and detect objects with high precision without contact. Laser distance sensors are used for distance and profile measurement, with ranges as great as 100 metres and resolutions as litte as 0.25 um. There are versions for thickness measurement and there are units with analogue and digital outputs. Laser beam sensors are used for filling control, height control, gap control, diameter control, thread inspection, edge detection, positioning control. They are highly precise and dynamic, as well as being easy to set up thanks to the visible laserbeam.

Ultrasonic sensors use the time of flight measurement principle of ultrasonic pulses in order to accurately and repeatably determine the position and distances of objects in automatic processes. Specially coded ultrasonic signals are transmitted in a set pattern and then reflected by the target object. This reflected signal is then received by the sensor and decoded.
